Heroine Showdown - Quarter Finals/Group 2

In this second round of the Quarter Finals, we have two fan Favorites - Penelope Featherington, one of the famous Bridgertons from ROMANCING MR. BRIDGERTON, and Blue Bailey from NATURAL BORN CHARMER. Remember, though we have called the contest, we are leaving the voting widgets open for fun.  So from this point on, NO voting in Round one counts.   Just a quick recap of the rules we laid down this time around.  For more information on the reasons, check out our Heroine Showdown Homepage for more information and for what is still to come! No characters who do not have their own book, no two characters from any one series, and no heroine was eligible if her hero competed in the Hero Showdown.

Quarter Finals - Group 2

Penelope Featherington (ROMANCING MR. BRIDGERTON/Julia Quinn)  You have to love a character that gets the last laugh on those who bullied her!  Penelope is exactly what one imagines Jane Austin was like when she was young.  She is beautiful to those who she lets see her attributes and a kind-hearted loyal woman.  She wins the love of Colin Bridgeton, who she has loved from afar for years, with her witty observations of society and encouraging him to be a better man.  A brilliant writer who secretly pens the hottest society gossip column the ton has a love/hate relationship with…you have to respect a woman who turns her misery of being on the edge of society into literary gold! Penelope proves that men will fall for brains over beauty!

Blue Bailey (NATURAL BORN CHARMER/Susan Elizabeth Phillips) Blue is a prickly, self-deprecating woman who wins the love of the gorgeous quarterback, Dean Robillard. Who doesn’t respect a woman who wins the love of a hottie even after their first meeting is on the side of the road and she is dressed as a beaver. Blue is a complex character who is tough on the outside but a marshmallow on the inside. She overcomes a difficult childhood and has made her way in life essentially on her own. You have to laugh at her snark and love how she is a sucker for a happy ending. When Blue let down her guard and let people in her quirky personality and inner beauty landed her the guy and her own family!

  1. Couples Showdown? Hmm.. Definitely Hawke and Sienna, Lucas and Sascha, Elena and Raphael Cat and Bones, Kate and Curran ohh and Vlad and Liela. I'm sure there are more, but this is just from the top of my head. Riley and Mercy too. And Brenna and Judd, Drew and Indigo. Pretty much all the Psy-changeling couples and the guild hunter couples. Though I don't have much love for Talin and Clay, Dorian and Ashaya and Faith and Vaugh.

    1. LOL! In general, for our showdowns, we limit it to one hero/heroine per series or two per author. I would imagine the couple showdown rules would be similar! :) I personally am a big fan of Sienna and Hawke so they could well be in the running as the PC reps! :)

  4. You have such awesome ideas with this. A couple showdown would be so much fun. I'd choose Kate and Curran, the BDB couples, Mercy and Adam and so many more I could keep going lol.

    1. LOL Steph! I know! Coming up with ENOUGH couples is never a problem! The challenge is finding a diverse group to appeal to a lot of people. That usually means limiting it to one couple/hero/heroine per series! :) That is when it gets tough - who to pick when a series has SOOOO many great couples?
