Heroine Showdown - Quarter Finals/Group 4

In this fourth round of the Quarter Finals, we have an unusual matchup - Iseabail the Dangerous from the Aiken's uproarious Dragon Kin series vs a classic - Erienne Fielding from A Rose in Winter. Sienna Lauren (KISS OF SNOW/Nalini Singh)

Iseabail the Dangerous  (HOW TO DRIVE A DRAGON CRAZY/G.A. Aiken) Izzy is a warrior in every sense of the word.  Since she was 16, she trained with one goal in mind - to become a general in her Aunt Annywyl's army.  But if along the way, she could have made her sexy "Uncle" Eibhear realize they were perfect together, she would have gladly done so.  But alas, "things" got in the way of that... mostly his hangups about her being his "niece" and her sleeping with his cousin.  Now that she IS a general, she thought she had put her feelings for Eibhear aside in favor of her other dream.  But those feelings never went away. They hid dormant for decades and when the Dragon Kin family need Eibhear and Izzy to go on a quest to protect her little sister... the sparks ignite that volcano and these two are on fire!  Spunky and loyal, funny and smart, strong and clever, Izzy is the heroine you'd most likely want to head to a pub with... so she can drink you under the table!

Erienne Fielding (A ROSE IN WINTER/Kathleen Woodiwiss)  Torn between loyalty to her husband and love for the man who ruined her father, Erienne Fielding finds herself caught in a complicated love triangle where each man is more than what he seems.  Passionate and strong, Erienne has worked most of her life to keep her small family from falling into ruin because of the actions of her drunkard father.  When she is sold in marriage to a mysterious lord, Erienne is frightened of being forever bound to a man whose face she has never seen even though he treats her with the utmost respect.  She is also scared of the feelings she has for the handsome man responsible for maiming her brother in a duel and scandalously flirts with her even knowing she is married.  Erienne fights a war within herself that can only lead to victories when she understands which man is her true love.

  1. I think one of my favorite heroines is Minerva Sharpe from 'How to Woo a Reluctant Lady' by Sabrina Jeffries. She writes Gothic novels in the book and she's a hoot!

  2. I still want to see Gin Blanco and Jane Yellowrock. :D

  3. Woodiwiss was my first romance author, so I am biased in this.

  5. To be honest, I'm not sure who I would like to see as heroine. Perhaps Annabelle from Match Me if You Can by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Or perhaps Blair Mallory from To Die For by Linda Howard.

  14. Hard choice. Personally, I love all Nalini Singh's ladies, but particularly her very first, Sasha.
